RISTEX Missions

The RISTEX Activity Cycle

RISTEX Activities

  1. RISTEX conducts substantive studies of problems facing society by engaging a wide array of stakeholders from various fields both from the natural and social sciences. Based on its findings, RISTEX then establishes R&D focus areas that have specific goals and that are expected to produce "know-how" that will contribute to solving social problems.
  2. RISTEX funds and promotes R&D by setting up R&D programs in each of the established areas, and by selecting projects through a public solicitation process under the management of an area director.
  3. RISTEX also supports activities intended to apply and utilize R&D outcomes for society.

At each step笏from identifying social problems to evaluating and implementing R&D outcomes笏RISTEX ensures the participation of various social players, including academics, civil societies, public and private sectors; their engagement is crucial to solving problems. Therefore, throughout the process, RISTEX supports the formation of networks in which stakeholders can connect and collaborate among themselves.
